Lineage

Few organizations in the world can trace their ancestors back 1500 years with accuracy. The Mexico Shaolin Temple and its members have taken the mission to preserve the knowledge of 35 generations of masters and students as well as possible, from Da Mo (527 CE, founder of Chan Buddhism) to our students.

The authentic students of Shaolin Martial Arts and Chan Buddhism identify ourselves clearly in our tradition’s family tree. Each name and each teaching from each of the masters in our lineage serves to shape our ideology and our way of seeing life, and lets us know where we stand and what our responsibility is.

From the great masters of our lineage, like Da Mo (Bodhidharma) and Shi Fu Yu, we do our best to preserve the way: the “Chan” of our ideology.
