In Chinese culture, the term "Kung Fu" refers to "the time and dedication invested in mastering any skill"—be it martial arts, calligraphy, cooking, or music: a "didactic-pedagogical concept" that demystifies the idea of innate talent. This concept treats knowledge in any area as accessible and democratic. Mastery, mastery, and virtuosity in any field of knowledge depend solely on the relationship between time and practice. When applied to martial arts, it encompasses not only combat techniques but also the entire philosophical structure of Chinese thought, Taoism, Confucianism, and Buddhism, mythology, and traditional Chinese medicine. Understanding the true meaning of this art requires immersion in the tradition and history of Chinese culture, so that Kung Fu is not reduced to a fight or physical activity, but manifests itself in its totality through the body, philosophy, culture, and spirituality.

Far beyond a fight or physical activity, Kung Fu is a complex "mechanism for understanding oneself and culture," a complex pedagogical tool for understanding and absorbing culture that adapts to generations while maintaining its essence. This adaptability of Kung Fu is a complex singularity: its philosophical foundations manage to remain intact and absorb the transformations of society without losing its tradition and originality. We understand that a true understanding of the concept of Kung Fu must avoid "orientalisms," the mystification of the Orient prevents Kung Fu from being seen as it truly is. Far from myths and romantic visions, Kung Fu is a system of war and survival. It is also a tool for self-perception, a way to know one's fears and potential, to access one's "shadow," to unveil the layers of the unconscious. It is also a didactic-pedagogical tool that can be applied in any area of knowledge and the educational system, because it treats learning in an accessible and democratic way. At Kung Fu Legacy, we delve into tradition, history, philosophy, and mythology, but we also analyze the concept of Kung Fu from an anthropological perspective, to avoid romanticism and mysticism, and to escape the mystical view that prevents Kung Fu from being truly and deeply understood.

Avaliações

Shifu Pedro Paixão

He began practicing Kung Fu in 2003 at the age of 10, having practiced various styles such as modern Wushu, Wing Chun, Sanda, Fei Hok Phai, Choy Lay Fut, and Wudang. He participated in several championships, obtaining numerous titles at the regional, state, national, and international levels. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the study of martial arts and Chinese culture, with an emphasis on Taoism, Chinese philosophy and mythology, seeking to understand the traditional and philosophical aspects, as well as to understand martial arts through the concept of anthropological culture, to distance himself from myths and "orientalism," the fantastical vision that distances people from the true meaning of the art. To understand Kung Fu, he dedicated himself to a complete immersion in all areas that encompass this art, from the application and technical execution of movements, to the experience of fighting as an athlete, to the understanding of the signs and symbols traditionally taught, to the scientific study of martial arts as a cultural concept and its anthropological bias. Kung Fu is a complex art that encompasses combat, philosophy and mythology, art, and Chinese medicine. Out of respect for the depth of this cultural heritage, he dedicated himself to technical study, combat experience in competitions, and a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, both traditionally and academically. Throughout his career, he also practiced various martial arts such as Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Sambo, and MMA.
